I design and make lighting, furniture and one-off pieces, from a sign for Madonna's birthday party to a shop fit-out on Regent Street.

I spent ten years in film, ending up helping to run a lighting hire company, building bespoke props and setting up production lines for lighting products. Clifford Customs is where I make my own work now: woodwork, welding, electrics and CAD under one roof.

A skincare flagship on Regent Street

A centre display table and a pair of light panels for a skincare brand's first shop, in the Quadrant Arcade. Both were matched to the brand's deep green and its own packaging.

Display table

A shaped MDF core with a thin poured coat of green resin, so the rolled edge reads as solid colour without the weight or cost of a cast slab. The D-shaped legs are MDF supports wrapped in stainless steel and polished to a mirror.

Jar light panels

Hundreds of the brand's own amber product jars, nested at different depths, each with its own light behind it, set in brushed stainless trays. Switched off, they still work as sculpture.

How the resin tables are made

The solid resin look, without the solid block

Most resin tables are cast as one thick slab. I build the form first, then pour a thin coat over it. You get the same deep, poured look, faster and for less.

Top and edges built from MDF in the exact shape you want: rounded ends, ovals, rolled edges.

  • 02

    Resin coat

Coloured resin poured over the whole form, so every face reads as solid colour. Brand colours matched from a sample.

Film light restorations

Before Clifford Customs I worked at Ancient Lights and Props, restoring vintage film lights and building props. These are their products, shown here with credit to them.
