I make things people stop and look at: lights that set a mood, colour that holds the eye, and furniture that becomes the heart of a room.
I learned my trade in film, lighting sets and building props for productions and events. Now I make my own work as Clifford Customs, from a lamp for a reading corner to the centrepiece of a London flagship store.
Deep green and warm amber
A centrepiece table and a pair of glowing wall panels for a skincare brand's first London shop, carrying the brand's colour through the whole room.
The table
A pool of deep, glossy green that seems to go on forever, with a soft rolled edge you want to run your hand along. The mirror-polished legs pick up the floor around them and almost disappear, so the colour floats in the middle of the room.
The light panels
Made from the brand's own amber jars, glowing like honeycomb across the wall. Switched on, they fill the shop with warm light. Switched off, they still hold the eye as sculpture.
Light with a personality
Lights and signs made for one place and one person: a name in lights, a lamp for a dark corner, a warm glow on a bare wall.
Everyday things, done beautifully

From film sets to parties
Before Clifford Customs I worked at Ancient Lights and Props, restoring vintage film lights and building giant marquee letters for events, including an M for one of Madonna's birthday parties.
These pieces were made at, and remain products of, Ancient Lights and Props.
